A Pandemic Without The Beer Store

With stay-at-home orders in place, most grocery stores are seeing record sales. Unfortunately, a cyber attack at Canada's The Beer Store left them in the cold and their customers thirsty.

"Three weeks after a virus unleashed by hackers tore through its computer systems, The Beer Store is still struggling to get back to normal."

The attack has hurt store sales and vendor relationships. With systems down, clerks and customers are at increased risk without a contactless payment option.

"It has left breweries frustrated, customers and staff worried about handling cash."

There's never a good time for a hack, but the timing couldn't be worse for The Beer Store. Coronavirus concerns are keeping people out of restaurants. In fact, March broke sales records at alcohol stores.
