New Mexico School District Attacked (again...)

For the second time in a year, New Mexico's Gadsden Independent School District (GISD) is suffering from a cyber attack.

"GISD shut down its internet and communication systems, affecting all schools and support service locations."

It appears the District's network was disabled by Ryuk, a particularly vicious ransomware family. Unfortunately, this isn't GISD's first attack of this kind.

"Last year GISD was hit with similar ransomware."

Cyber criminals appear to be heavily targeting schools and government offices, like here, here and here.

As cyber criminals keep getting better, more organizations are turning to INFIMA's fully automated Cyber Security Training to keep their teams safe.
